Post-construction cleaning is the final clean after a remodel, addition or new build, once the contractors are done. Construction dust is finer than household dust. It settles on top of cabinets, inside drawers, in light fixtures, along window tracks and in HVAC vents, and it keeps reappearing for weeks if it is just pushed around.
BrighterHome handles residential post-construction cleans in The Woodlands and the surrounding area: kitchen and bath remodels, flooring replacements, whole-home renovations, and new homes in nearby master-planned communities such as Woodforest, Grand Central Park and The Woodlands Hills. We focus on the detail phase that general contractors usually leave to the owner: removing the protective films and manufacturer stickers, lifting paint and grout haze off hard surfaces, and wiping every surface top to bottom more than once. Projects start at $349 and are quoted on size and condition, because a single bathroom refresh and a 4,000 sq ft new build are very different jobs.

Why construction dust needs a different clean
Drywall sanding, tile cutting and sawing produce dust much finer than everyday house dust. It floats, settles slowly and works its way into places a normal clean never touches. A regular cleaning will make a room look better for a day, then the dust settles out of the air and it looks dusty again.
Our post-construction process is built around that:
- Top down: ceiling fans, light fixtures, cabinet tops and door frames first, floors last.
- HEPA vacuum before wiping: dry dust is lifted, not smeared into a paste.
- Two passes on surfaces and floors: a second wipe after the air has settled catches what floated down.
- Inside everything: new cabinets and drawers are full of sawdust even if the doors were closed.
Run your HVAC with a fresh filter after the remodel and replace it again a few weeks later. We will remind you when we see a dusty return.
Stickers, paint specks and finish-safe cleaning
The last 10% of a remodel is the most tedious part to clean: manufacturer labels on windows and appliances, blue tape residue, paint drips on tile, overspray on hardware and grout haze on new stone.
We remove these carefully, because new finishes are easy to damage. Scraping a sticker off a tempered shower door is different from scraping one off a sealed quartz counter. We use plastic blades where possible, adhesive removers appropriate to the surface and non-abrasive pads on stainless steel and natural stone. If something looks like it needs a trade, such as dried mortar on a hardwood floor or caulk that needs re-doing, we will flag it for your contractor rather than risk the finish.
We do not haul away construction debris, lumber or drywall scraps. Ask your contractor to clear the job site and do the rough sweep before we arrive.
Remodels and new builds around The Woodlands
Many homes in the older villages, such as Grogan’s Mill, Panther Creek and Cochran’s Crossing, are now old enough for kitchen and bath remodels, flooring replacements and full renovations. Meanwhile, new-build communities just north of The Woodlands in the Conroe and Montgomery area keep adding homes.
Each needs a slightly different approach. In a remodel, the family usually lives in part of the house, so dust has travelled into rooms that were not part of the project; we clean those too if you ask. In a new build, everything is new and vacant, so the clean is about labels, films, fine dust and getting the home ready for the walkthrough or move-in day. Once you are settled, a deep clean a few weeks later takes care of the dust that keeps working its way out of vents and fixtures.
Post-construction cleaning cost
Post-construction cleaning starts at $349. Because the work depends on the project, we quote it after seeing photos or the home itself. What changes the price:
- Scope: one remodeled room, a whole floor or the entire house
- Square footage: larger homes take longer, and many Woodlands homes are over 3,000 sq ft
- Condition: how much dust, residue and paint is left, and whether debris has been cleared
- Extras: interior windows, blinds and garage floors
Send photos through our contact page for a starting estimate. As with every clean, you pay after the job is done, and our 24-hour re-clean guarantee applies. If you are working with a builder or remodeler, we are happy to coordinate timing with them directly so the clean lands right after the final punch list and before your walkthrough.
Who Post-Construction Cleaning is for
- Homeowners finishing a kitchen or bath remodel
- Buyers moving into a newly built home
- Builders and remodelers who need a final clean before handover

Post-Construction Cleaning FAQ
When should I book a post-construction clean?
After all trades are finished, including painters and the final punch list. If someone still needs to come back to sand or cut, we would end up cleaning twice.
Do you remove construction debris?
No. We remove dust, residue, stickers and light debris from cleaning, but not lumber, drywall scraps or leftover materials. Your contractor should clear those first.
How much does post-construction cleaning cost?
It starts at $349 and is quoted to the project. A single remodeled bathroom is at the low end; a whole-home renovation or large new build costs more. Send photos for an estimate.
Will you clean the parts of the house that were not remodeled?
Yes, if you add them to the quote. Construction dust travels, so most remodel clients include adjoining rooms and the HVAC returns.
Do you clean new builds in Conroe and Montgomery?
Yes. We clean new homes in the communities north of The Woodlands, including the Conroe and Montgomery areas.
Can you clean a commercial build-out?
We focus on homes and small offices. For a small office suite after a build-out, ask us; larger commercial projects are best handled by a construction cleanup company.
