BrighterHome’s home organization service is hands-on decluttering and organizing, billed at $55 per hour per organizer with a two-hour minimum. We work alongside you (or from your instructions) to sort what you own, clear out what you don’t want, and set up a system for what stays — in closets, pantries, garages, kids’ rooms, home offices and anywhere else that has quietly turned into a storage problem.
It’s a different job from cleaning. A cleaner wipes around your stuff; an organizer deals with the stuff itself. Many Woodlands clients pair the two: an organizing session to clear a space, then a deep cleaning once surfaces and floors are finally visible. We also unpack and set up homes after a move, so the boxes in the garage don’t become a permanent feature. Our organizers are background-checked, trained BrighterHome employees, and you pay after the session.

What a professional organizing session looks like
A session starts with a short walkthrough, then we work one space at a time: empty, sort, decide, clean, and put back with a system. You tell us what’s bothering you most — the pantry nobody can find anything in, the closet you can’t close — and we start there.
- Walkthrough (10–15 minutes). We look at the space, ask how you use it, and agree on what “done” looks like for this session.
- Empty and sort. Everything comes out and is grouped by category so you can see exactly what you have.
- Decide. You make the keep, donate and toss calls; we keep it moving. We never throw anything away without your OK.
- Clean the empty space. Shelves, drawers and floors get wiped while they’re bare.
- Put back with a system. Items go back in zones, at heights that match how often you use them, with labels if you want them.
You don’t have to stay the whole time; many clients handle the decisions and leave the rest to us.
Home organizing cost in The Woodlands
Organizing is billed at $55 per hour per organizer, with a two-hour minimum per visit. Two organizers working together finish in roughly half the time, so the total is similar — you’re mostly choosing between a longer visit and a faster one.
| Space | Typical time (1 organizer) | Estimated cost |
|---|---|---|
| Standard reach-in pantry | 2–3 hours | $110–$165 |
| Walk-in primary closet | 3–5 hours | $165–$275 |
| Kids’ bedroom or playroom | 2–4 hours | $110–$220 |
| Two-car garage | 5–8 hours | $275–$440 |
| Move-in unpacking (kitchen + bedrooms) | 6–10 hours | $330–$550 |
These are estimates, not quotes — the amount of stuff matters more than the size of the room. Products such as bins, drawer dividers or shelf risers are optional and billed at cost with receipts; we’ll suggest what you need after we see the space, and we’re happy to work with containers you already own. Garage and move-in organizing for Woodlands homes
Garages and post-move homes are the two jobs we’re asked about most, and both are worth planning around the Texas weather. Many Woodlands homes have two- or three-car garages that slowly fill with sports gear, holiday decor, pool supplies and boxes that never got unpacked. In July and August an attached garage can be uncomfortably hot by late morning, so we schedule garage sessions early in the day during summer, or in spring and fall when it’s pleasant to work with the door up.
For families relocating to The Woodlands — and many arrive with an employer relocation and a tight start date — we can unpack and set up the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms first so the house works on day one. The easiest sequence is a move-in cleaning while the home is empty, then an unpacking session the day the truck arrives. Moving out instead? An organizing session a few weeks before packing makes the move lighter and cheaper.
What we don’t do (and who to call instead)
We organize and declutter; we are not a junk removal, moving or hoarding-cleanup company. Being clear about that saves everyone time.
- We can drop off donation bags that fit in our vehicle, but large furniture and full truckloads need a haul-away service. We’re happy to help you sort and stage items for pickup.
- We don’t install shelving systems, drill into walls or assemble large furniture.
- We don’t handle hazardous materials (old paint, chemicals, propane) — we’ll group them for you to dispose of through the county’s household hazardous waste options.
- Severe hoarding situations need specialists with different equipment and training.

Home Organization Service FAQ
How much does a professional organizer cost in The Woodlands?
BrighterHome charges $55 per hour per organizer with a two-hour minimum, so the smallest session is $110. A typical pantry runs two to three hours; a full two-car garage often takes five to eight. Organizing products are optional and billed at cost.
Do I have to be home during an organizing session?
It helps to be there at the start and for keep-or-donate decisions, since we never discard anything without your approval. Once decisions are made, many clients head out and let us finish the setup.
Will you throw my things away?
Not without your OK. We sort everything into keep, donate, consign and toss groups and you make the final calls. Anything you’re unsure about can go in a labeled “decide later” box.
Do I need to buy bins and containers first?
No. Wait until after the first session — once the space is sorted, we know exactly what will fit. We can buy products for you at cost with your approval, or work with containers you already own.
Can you clean the space after organizing it?
Yes. Shelves and drawers get wiped as part of organizing. For a full-home clean afterward, book a deep cleaning or standard house cleaning as a separate visit.
Do you help with unpacking after a move?
Yes — move-in unpacking is one of our most requested organizing jobs. We start with the kitchen, bathrooms and beds so the home is livable quickly, then work through the remaining rooms and break down boxes as we go.
Do you organize homes outside The Woodlands?
Yes. We offer organizing in every Woodlands village and in nearby communities including Spring, Conroe and Magnolia. See our full service areas.
