House cleaning from BrighterHome is a standard, top-to-bottom maintenance clean of every room you live in — kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and floors — done by a trained, background-checked cleaner using supplies we bring. It’s the service most Woodlands families book on repeat, and it starts at $129 for a studio or one-bedroom home. A typical three-bedroom, two-bath home is $209.
We built this service for busy households in The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe and nearby: two working parents, a teenager’s sports schedule, a dog that sheds on the stairs, and a house that’s bigger than the time you have to clean it. A standard clean keeps surfaces, floors, kitchens and bathrooms consistently clean between life’s bigger resets. If your home hasn’t had a professional clean in a while, start with a deep cleaning and switch to standard visits after that. If you want it on a schedule, our weekly, bi-weekly and monthly maid service takes up to 20% off every visit.

What a standard house cleaning includes (and what it doesn’t)
A standard clean covers everything that gets dirty in normal daily life. Think kitchen counters and sinks, bathrooms, dusting reachable surfaces, making beds, emptying trash, and vacuuming and mopping every floor. The full list is in the room-by-room checklist above and on our cleaning checklist page.
What it doesn’t include is the slow-building detail work: hand-wiping every baseboard, degreasing cabinet boxes, scrubbing grout lines, washing blinds slat by slat, or cleaning inside the oven and fridge. Those tasks belong in a deep clean, or you can add individual items to a standard visit — inside fridge, inside oven, blinds, baseboards and more, each $25–45.
There are also a few things we don’t do at all for safety and liability reasons:
- Moving very heavy furniture or climbing above a step-stool height
- Exterior windows, gutters, or anything on a roof
- Biohazards, mold remediation or pest droppings
- Cleaning up after pets beyond normal hair and dander (no litter boxes or accidents)
Knowing the line up front means no surprises on cleaning day — and a price that stays the same visit to visit.
How much does house cleaning cost in The Woodlands?
House cleaning in The Woodlands starts at $129 for a studio or one-bedroom home, and a typical three-bedroom, two-bath home is $209 for a one-time standard clean. Our prices are flat and based on bedrooms and bathrooms, so you see the number before you book — not after a walk-through.
| Service | Starts at | Typical 3 bed / 2 bath |
|---|---|---|
| Standard house cleaning | $129 | $209 |
| Deep cleaning | $209 | $339 |
| Move-in / move-out | $239 | $379 |
Larger homes add a flat square-footage surcharge to a standard clean: +$30 for 2,500–3,499 sq ft, +$60 for 3,500–4,499 sq ft and +$100 for 4,500 sq ft and up. Recurring visits come off that price — 20% weekly, 15% bi-weekly, 10% monthly — and you get $25 off your first clean when you book online.
For context, published local rates for recurring cleaning in The Woodlands area generally fall between roughly $130 and $290 depending on home size. See the full breakdown on our pricing page or read what house cleaning costs in The Woodlands.
Cleaning bigger two-story Woodlands homes
Many homes in The Woodlands are two-story, 2,500 square feet or larger, with a game room, a study and three or more bathrooms — and that changes how a cleaning should be run. We plan the visit around it instead of rushing the second floor at the end.
- Top-down, floor by floor. We start upstairs and work down, so dust and pet hair knocked loose on the landing doesn’t land on floors that are already clean.
- Stairs get real attention. Carpeted staircases collect hair and grit in the corners of every tread. We vacuum each step and wipe the handrail and balusters.
- Bonus rooms count. Game rooms, media rooms and studies are included in a standard clean — just let us know they exist when you book so the time is planned.
- Pets are part of the household. Plenty of Woodlands homes have a dog or two. Normal shedding is covered; homes with heavy-shedding breeds can add a heavy pet hair pass.
- Pine country is dusty country. Living under a pine canopy means needles and pollen tracked in by shoes and paws, especially in spring. Entry floors and back-door mats get extra time.
The square-footage surcharge exists precisely so big homes get the time they need — not a rushed version of a smaller home’s clean.
What to expect from your BrighterHome cleaner
You get a trained, background-checked employee who arrives with eco-friendly supplies, follows a set checklist, and doesn’t get paid until you’ve seen the result. Here’s how a first visit works:
- Book online in a couple of minutes. Pick bedrooms, bathrooms, home size and any add-ons; the price updates live. Booking online takes $25 off your first clean.
- Tell us the details. Gate codes, pets, alarm instructions, parking, rooms to skip, and anything you’d like us to focus on.
- We clean. You can be home or not — many clients leave a garage code or lockbox. Your cleaner works through the checklist room by room.
- You check it, then pay. Payment is taken after the clean. If anything on the checklist was missed, tell us within 24 hours and we’ll come back to re-clean that area at no charge — see our guarantee.

House Cleaning FAQ
How long does a standard house cleaning take?
Most standard cleans take two to four hours with one cleaner, depending on the size of the home, number of bathrooms and pets. A typical three-bedroom, two-bath home in The Woodlands lands near the middle of that range. Larger two-story homes may get a two-person team to keep the visit shorter.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No. Many clients leave a garage code, lockbox or key. Add entry instructions, gate codes and alarm details to your booking notes. If you prefer to be home for the first visit to meet your cleaner, that's completely fine too.
Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?
Yes. Eco-friendly cleaning products, microfiber cloths, mops and a vacuum are included in the price. If you'd like us to use a specific product on your floors or counters — natural stone, for example — leave it out and add a note.
Are your house cleaners insured and background-checked?
Yes. BrighterHome is fully insured and bonded, and every cleaner is a background-checked, trained employee. We don't send subcontractors you've never heard of.
What if I’m not happy with the clean?
Let us know within 24 hours and we'll come back to re-clean anything on the checklist that was missed, free. And because you pay after the clean, you see the result before any money changes hands. Details are on our guarantee page.
Do you clean homes with dogs and cats?
Absolutely — pets are part of most Woodlands households. Let us know about your pets when booking. Normal shedding is included; for heavy shedders, add the heavy pet hair option. We ask that pets who are nervous around strangers be crated or kept in one room.
Can I get house cleaning on a regular schedule?
Yes. Choose weekly, every two weeks or monthly when you book and you'll save 20%, 15% or 10% on each visit. There's no contract — skip, reschedule or cancel anytime. See recurring cleaning for details.
Should I book a standard clean or a deep clean first?
If your home has had a professional clean in the last month or so, a standard clean is usually enough. If it's been longer, or you've just moved in, start with a deep clean — it catches up the detail work so later standard visits can keep everything in shape.
